Welcome to 6th Meadowvale

The 6th Meadowvale Scout Group, a member of Scouts Canada, operates in Mississauga, Ontario Area, under the Central Escarpment Council. Our group has provided Scouting programs since 1997/1998, and celebrated it's 10th anniversary in the 2007 / 2008 season. Our sponsors are Buddha's Light International Association (BLIA) Toronto, and Fo Guang Shan Temple of Toronto. From a modest beginning of just a few members to a present strength of more than 150 members, the Group is one of the largest in the Mississauga Area. The 6th Meadowvale is also the first BLIA Scout Group in Canada.

We combine the traditional Scouting activities with a spiritual aspect embodied in Community Service as an important part of our program. Our goal is to lead our youth to be good, responsible, citizens in our in our society. Community Service projects enrich learning by engaging youth in meaningful service to their communities. The Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Venturers apply their academic and Scouting skills to addressing real-world situations. Quite often the youth are leading the process, with the leaders as partners, applying critical thinking and problem-solving skills to concerns such as pollution, hunger, and elderly care.

For the next ten years and beyond, we have every confidence that our youth and
leaders will continue to promote the ideals that carried us so well in our first 10 years.
